Privacy Policy for Stories Fables & Tales

Last updated: September 1, 2026

The short version: The app has no accounts. It never asks for your name, your email address, or anything else that identifies you, and it contains no advertising and no tracking of any kind.

What it does keep is small and anonymous: a random number that identifies your copy of the app, the ratings you give, and which stories you have opened. That is enough to show community ratings and a popular list, and not enough to know who you are.

This policy explains exactly what Stories Fables & Tales ("the app") collects, why, and what happens to it. It is written to be read rather than to be legally impressive. If anything here is unclear, write to contact@revnics.com and ask.

The app is published by Revnics, LLC, a Delaware limited liability company ("we"). We are reachable at contact@revnics.com, which is the address for every question, deletion request and privacy right described below. A person reads it.

What We Never Collect

There is no sign-in screen in this app, and no account to create. As a direct result, we hold none of the following, and could not produce them if asked:

The app requests no system permissions. If you are ever shown a permission prompt while using it, something is wrong; please tell us.

What We Do Collect

Three things, all attached to a random reader ID rather than to you.

WhatWhy
A reader ID — a random number created on your device the first time the app opens So that one rating counts once, and so you can change a rating you gave earlier. It is generated on your phone, is not derived from anything about you or your device, and is not the advertising identifier.
Ratings — the star rating you give a story, and when you gave it To calculate the community average shown on each story, and the "highly rated" list.
Reading activity — which story was opened, finished, saved or shared, and when; and how far through a story you have read To calculate the "popular now" list, which is based on what people are reading recently, and to keep your place in a story.

That is the complete list. There is no event stream, no session recording, no crash-reporting service, no attribution or install-referral tracking, and no analytics package. The app contains no third-party software development kits at all — it is built entirely on Apple's own frameworks.

About the Reader ID

It is a random value, stored in your device's keychain, and it stays the same if you delete and reinstall the app so that your ratings are not lost. It identifies your installation and nothing else. It is not shared with anybody, is not used to build a profile, and is not used to recognise you on any other app or website. You can see the first part of it yourself under Settings → This device in the app.

What Never Leaves Your Device

Who Else Is Involved

Two companies, for two narrow purposes.

We do not sell data, share it for advertising, or give it to anybody else — there is nothing in it that would be of use to them.

Tracking and Advertising

There is none. The app shows no advertisements, contains no advertising software, and does not track you across other apps or websites. It does not use Apple's advertising identifier, and it will never show you the App Tracking Transparency prompt, because there is nothing to ask permission for.

Children

These are bedtime stories, and we expect many of them to be read to children or by them. The app is rated 4+ and contains nothing unsuitable at any age.

Because the app collects no personal information from anybody, it collects none from children either. There is no account to create, no name to enter, no message anyone can send through it, and no way for one reader to see another. We believe this to be the most straightforward way of complying with children's privacy law, including the Children's Online Privacy Protection Act: by having nothing to protect.

How Long It Is Kept, and How to Have It Removed

Ratings and reading activity are kept for as long as the app is running, because they are what the community averages are made of. A reader ID that has never rated, saved or finished anything is deleted automatically after ninety days.

You can have everything associated with your copy of the app deleted at any time. Because there is no account, we need the reader ID to find it:

  1. Open the app and go to Settings → This device
  2. Note the Reader ID shown there
  3. Email it to contact@revnics.com and ask us to delete it

We will delete the ratings, activity and reading positions attached to that ID and confirm when it is done, normally within thirty days. Deleting the app from your device removes everything held on the device itself.

One honest caveat: because we cannot tell who you are, we cannot verify that a reader ID is yours. We treat possession of the ID as sufficient, which is why it is worth not publishing it anywhere.

Your Rights

Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, correct, delete or export personal data held about you, and to object to its processing — under the UK and EU General Data Protection Regulation, the California Consumer Privacy Act, India's Digital Personal Data Protection Act, and similar laws elsewhere.

We honour those requests at contact@revnics.com. In practice most of them resolve quickly, because the data we hold is not linked to an identifiable person: we can delete what is attached to a reader ID, and we can tell you exactly what that is, but we cannot confirm whether any of it relates to you specifically, because we do not know.

Our lawful basis for processing, where one is required, is legitimate interest: showing honest community ratings requires counting each reader once.

Security

Traffic between the app and the database is encrypted in transit. The database enforces access rules at the row level, so one reader's ratings cannot be read or altered by another. The reader ID is held in the device keychain rather than in ordinary storage.

Changes to This Policy

If we change what the app collects, we will change this page and update the date at the top before the change reaches the App Store. Material changes will also be noted in the app's release notes.
